Frequently Asked Questions

  • IS BEING A MEMBER GOOD VALUE?

  • It is RIDICULOUSLY GOOD VALUE! A high performance e-foil or jet surfboard can set you back anywhere from $12,000 to $30,000+.

Then you have the hassle of cleaning it, recharging batteries, storing it, maintaining it...

Of course, let's not forget about the fact that many buyers realise after they buy a watercraft that it's not the right one for them... it's too small, too heavy, too hard to ride, too easy to ride... or maybe they just got the wrong length mast, the wrong foil setup, the wrong battery size... the list goes on!

When you join the club, you get access to a variety of different watercraft with a variety of configurations, allowing you to find the perfect one for you. Then, if you want your own, you can buy that from us with a member discount. Or you can stick with the club and keep trying new products (and new versions of the watercraft you love) as we add the latest and greatest - and the old favourites!

  • WHAT ARE THE HIDDEN COSTS?

  • We do our best to make sure that there aren't any! See the Pricing menu for all the costs, including optional extras and upgrades.

But some expenses you may not have thought about include the cost of a license in your state (if you need one), or you might expect some services we don't offer (yet), so please make sure you check the T&Cs when making payment.

Note that we always provide a charger for multi-day bookings of electric watercraft.

We also need to hold a $2000 bond during your membership, to cover the cost of equipment repair or recovery, just in case. We don't touch it unless there is a problem charging your credit card for upgrades or fees you've incurred.

  • IS ACCESS UNLIMITED?

  • For most people, you'll have more access to equipment than you'll ever need! As soon as you've used your booking, you can book again!

Sometimes, we may need a little bit of time to ensure that the equipment is ready to go where and when you need it. Sometimes we need to move equipment between club locations to keep everyone happy, and sometimes our members don't return it on time! If we have it ready, you can have it the very next day!

Note that if the equipment has been booked by other members, it may not be available again straight away. We will aim to have the most popular equipment available as much as possible. For example, we have six Fliteboards because we know how popular they are!

If we have plenty of the equipment you love and it's not booked out, you can get a load of use out of it, with none of the hassle!

Our general policy is "if it's available, take it!", however we do still need to be profitable in order to continue to provide services in future years :) So we operate a "fair use" policy and we do review instances of excessive bookings.

  • IS THE CLUB INSURED?

  • Yes, we hold a $20 million public liability insurance policy which covers any lessons run by us.

However, we strongly encourage all of our members to not need insurance!

Stay safe, stay legal and be considerate of others. Watch out for other waterway users and hazards. And comply with our club terms and conditions.

Then you should have a great day on the water!

  • CAN I SHARE MY MEMBERSHIP WITH OTHERS?

  • Yes! You're welcome to share your booked equipment with others.

However, depending on the equipment, your companions may need to have completed a lesson with us, they may need to hold an operator's license, and they ALL must have signed our waiver for insurance purposes.

However, the member must always be the one to collect and return the equipment, just like with a car rental company. No exceptions! If you can't come to us, maybe the "dropoff" upgrade will work better for you?

  • WHAT IF I DON'T RETURN THE EQUIPMENT ON TIME?

  • Let us know in advance and we'll do our best to accommodate your situation.

However, please remember that equipment may be booked out by other members the next day. So, every day, we need to clean and maintain the watercraft and recharge the batteries, and we don't want to be working until midnight doing that! Or, in worst case situations, we need to urgently relocate equipment between club locations, which is time consuming and expensive.

As a result, we reserve the right to charge a penalty to cover our costs, time and inconvenience.

  • WHAT IF THE EQUIPMENT GETS STOLEN OR DAMAGED?

  • Members are responsible to return all equipment in the condition that it is provided to them - reasonably clean and undamaged.

If any equipment is lost or damaged (including kayak straps, leashes, remote controls, carry bags, etc), we will charge the cost of replacement or repair to your credit card on file.

  • WHAT INFORMATION DO I NEED TO PROVIDE TO BECOME A MEMBER?

  • We need a copy of your drivers license, your watercraft license (boat/PWC) if applicable in this state, your car registration and two utility bills at your home address. All documents need to match.

You also need to pay for your membership with a credit card, which we will keep on file for incidentals, upgrades and extras.

We reserve the right to deny membership if we have any concerns regarding the safety of others on the water or the security of our equipment.
